Muhd Shakirin Bin Ibrahim, 2004 Sukma Men’s Singles Champion, created another history by becoming the first non-Chinese to win the 2006 Men's National Table Tennis Championship singles title. Since donning national colours in 2004, his best international achievement to date was when he won the Commonwealth Championship in 2004 partnering Chan Koon Wah.

To date, Muhd Shakirin Bin Ibrahim is currently one of the key player in the National Squad which he has to follow full time training with the Malaysian Team under a national coach at the Dewan Sri Petaling, Bukit Jalil. Muhd Shakirin had played in most of the 2006 International Championships, and according to the national report that he had shown his performance consistently throughout.
On his future goal, Mohd Shakirin said he wanted to be the SEA Games champion one day.

2006 Kuala Lumpur Sukma players, Tan Cheng Keat and Chia Swee Yee were nominated by MSWP to attend the Seminar “Sports Education” Atlet Gemilang WP from 24-26 Nov.2006 at Hotel De Palma, Ampang.

KLTTA to inspire players with cash reward
CASH incentives was given again to
Kuala Lumpur Table Tennis Association (KLTTA) president Dato’ Low Keng Kok said the cash prizes were given in recognition and to support them to strive harder in table tennis sport in near future.

Players from the 2006 Under 13 boys and girls also performed well with one gold, one silver and two bronzes.
Forty players received 2006 incentives. Among them were Muhd Shakirin Ibrahim who received RM1700, Muhammad Shahrul Kamal RM700 and Goh Nai Ngee rewarded with RM800.
